The Box Factor

THE BOX FACTOR

October 10 2011

BUDDING singers will be looking to hit the right notes in Crewe’s biggest-ever karaoke cash prize competition.

The Box Factor starts on Sunday (October 16) with wannabe stars battling it out over a series of heats for a chance to win £750 in the final.

Having been based at The Express over recent years, the town’s version of the hit ITV show has transferred to the Pedley Street venue with ex-landlady and organiser Shirley Partington on the judging panel.

“Shirley made it such a success at The Express, it just wouldn’t be the same without her,” explained The Box owner Ray Bruchez.

“We’ve upped the prize considerably to offer a real incentive for people to come down and showcase their talent.”

“The first of eight heats start in the Stage Door (Corner Bar) this Sunday, followed by two semis and a grand final in The Box on Boxing Day.

Along with the top prize, the runner-up will receive £150 and third place £100.

The event is also a charity fundraiser with each act paying £1 entrance for good causes.
